The post-2013 carb only accepts Z-shaped throttle cable ends, not barrel ends. Compare the photos with your old carb.

About this kit

Stihl changed the carburetor mounting and throttle cable end on the 2-Mix FS38 and FS55 around 2013, which is why the same trimmer model can need two different carbs. Our early version replaces the C1Q-S97, S66, S71, S143, S153 and S186 family; the later one replaces the C1Q-S282 and takes a Z-shaped cable end.

Either way you get two gaskets, two primer bulbs, two fuel filters, an air filter, a line and a plug. Look at the throttle cable end and the build year on your trimmer, pick the matching option above, and the swap takes around twenty minutes with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers.
