Before you order

Blowers eat their own dust. The air filter clogs, the engine runs rich, the plug fouls and the carburetor varnishes — usually all in the same autumn. That is why most of our blower kits come as a full service set rather than a bare carb: when the unit is already apart on the bench, it makes sense to change everything that breathes and feeds it.

Backpack models like the Echo PB-580T, PB-755ST and PB-770 and the Stihl BR600 use larger carburetors than handhelds, and several share a body with a slightly different throttle linkage. Check the rod-versus-cable note on each card, compare the photo against your old carb, and you will not have to take it apart twice.

Questions we get

Why does my blower only run with the choke half on?

That is the classic sign of a lean carburetor — a hardened diaphragm or a pinhole in the fuel line. Replace the fuel line first; if it still hunts, the carburetor is due.

The Stihl BG55 kit says rod throttle only. What does that mean?

Older BG55 and BG85 blowers work the throttle with a stiff rod, newer ones with a cable. Our BG55 carb has the rod linkage. Look at your throttle arm before you order.

Are the Echo PB-580T kits interchangeable?

Both fit the same PB-580T, PB-580H and Shindaiwa EB600RT. One adds a tank vent, the other is the leaner bag — same carburetor.
